How do I find a team to play on?
The MYAS does not form teams or place kids on teams. However, we can get you in contact with teams/clubs who will be putting teams together. We recommend contacting your local association first. Click here to view association/club contact info. Or, you can form your own team.
How do I sign up my team?
Simply send in the hard copy entry form with a check or complete the online registration and pay with a credit card. Please note that each play date has an entry deadline. As long as you register your team prior to the entry deadline, we will have a place for your team to play.
What documentation is needed?
Beyond the hard copy entry form or online registration, all we require is a roster and code of conduct forms to be submitted prior to your first game. You can email the documents to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax them to 763-781-1922.
Do I have to have my roster set before I register for the play dates/tournaments?
Are there any additional fees or memberships required?
Are there different levels of play?
Yes. There are A (Top), B (Middle) and C (Bottom) divisions. It is the responsibility of the coaches to classify their team(s) correctly. The MYAS reserves the right to move teams up or down.
Where are games played?
The MYAS has several locations around the mero area for the Gopher State Fall Basketball League. Teams cannot sign up for a specific location. We will try to keep teams as close to home as possible. Teams participating in the league may play at different locations thoughout the league. This was done to help keep teams closer to home.
Does my team need to play in all the play dates??
Teams can choose the tournaments they want to play. This was done in an effort to avoid having teams play on the same day they have tryouts as many teams wanted to avoid that. The fee structure is listed on the Gopher State Fall Basketball webpage and in the entry packet.
When are games played?
Games are played on Sundays and will be scheduled at 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. That may be adjusted by 30 minutes on each end. Ideally, games will be scheduled with a one game break in between games. The MYAS can accommodate most reasonable scheduling requests. If your team has a request/conflict, please indicate it when you register your team.
Can I coach two teams?
It is recommended that coaches coach only one team. If you plan on coaching multiple teams the MYAS does not guarantee that they will be placed at the same playing site or that the schedules will allow a coach to coach both teams. You are welcome to list the request on the entry form but it is not guaranteed that we will be able to accommodate.
Can a player play on two teams?
Players can play on two teams unless they are in the same bracket division.
Where are the schedules posted?
The schedules are posted on the MYAS website. They are not sent in the mail.
When can I get my schedule?
Schedules will be posted 7-10 days prior to each event.
Will the schedules change?
Possibly. It is the coaches/teams responsibility to make sure they have the current schedule. Please check the website often.
Game results will be posted online shortly after each event.
Are there additional fees required to participate in any of the fall basketball events?
There are no additional insurance or membership fees required to participate.
Each playing site will have a full concession stand.
There will be an admission fee. $7 per adult and $5 per student.
All players and coaches will be admitted for free.
Each site will have a certified trainer on-site.
Are jerseys provided?
No. Teams must provide their own jerseys/uniforms.
Awards - This applies to Fall Championships Only
Division with 7 or fewer teams will award 1st & 2nd
Division with 8 or more teams will award 1st, 2nd, 3rd & Consolation.
