Office Closure Announcement

In accordance with the Governors of Minnesota & Wisconsin and their Executive Orders, the Minnesota Youth Athletic Services(MYAS)/Wisconsin Sports Services (WSS)/Trusted Coaches offices will remain closed in order to support the efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The members of the MYAS/WSS/Trusted Coaches staff, have been successfully working remotely for the past two weeks and are available to assist you as needed. All staff have been and will continue to monitor their emails throughout this office closure.

While we have closed our businesses to the general public, we remain ready to provide you quality customer service, assist and answer any questions that you may have.

Our organization will be determining status of suspended and cancelled events on Monday, March 30, 2020. More information will be communicated to those participants/teams during the week of April 6th.

Please continue to follow heed of the guidelines and recommendations that are available from the CDC and the state agencies about COVID-19 in order to keep you and your family safe at this time. #stayhomemn  #SaferAtHome

2020 GOPHER STATE SPRING BASKETBALL GRADE DIVISIONS

 

3rd Grade – An athlete must be in the 3rd grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 11 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 10 prior to September 1, 2020.

4th Grade – An athlete must be in the 4th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 12 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 11 prior to September 1, 2020.

5th Grade – An athlete must be in the 5th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 13 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 12 prior to September 1, 2020.

6th Grade – An athlete must be in the 6th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 14 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 13 prior to September 1, 2020.

7th Grade – An athlete must be in the 7th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 15 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 14 prior to September 1, 2020.

8th Grade – An athlete must be in the 8th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 16 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 15 prior to September 1, 2020.

9th Grade - An athlete must be in the 9th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 17 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 16 prior to September 1, 2020.

10th Grade – An athlete must be in the 10th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 18 prior to September 1, 2019. Age Exception: Athlete does not turn 17 prior to September 1, 2020.

11th/12th Grade – An athlete must be in the 12th grade or below for the 2019-2020 school year and cannot turn 20 prior to September 1, 2020. Age Exception: None

 

Player Participation Rule - “Playing Up”

 Players may play up with the following limitations:


Grade Based Events

Players in 6th Grade and Younger (for events that are grade based):

  • Players may play up two grade levels.
  • Example: A 5th grader may play in a 6th grade or 7th grade tournament. The 5th grader could not play in an 8th grade or older tournament.

Players in 7th Grade and Older:

  • Players can play up without any restrictions. Please use good judgment. 

We have adopted this rule for player safety, liability and to maintain the integrity of the events.
