The Midwest Wrestling Tour has seen tremendous growth since its inception in 2013. In that time participation numbers have more than doubled, and the tour added a fourth event with the Buffalo Nationals in South Dakota. In the 2016-2017 season, the Midwest Wrestling Tour consisted of 3,200 wrestlers from 17 different states, and has become one of the premier wrestling events in the nation. Today marks another milestone for the Midwest Wrestling Tour, as they have partnered with Cliff Keen Athletic to become the title sponsor of the Midwest Wrestling Tour.

The four tournaments that make up the Midwest Wrestling Tour are the Hawkeye Nationals (IA), Badgerland Nationals (WI), Buffalo Nationals (SD), and the Gopher State Nationals (MN). The 2017-2018 Midwest Wrestling Tour kicks off on December 2-3, 2017 with the Hawkeye Nationals at Young Arena in Waterloo, IA.
The Midwest Wrestling Tour is operated in collaboration between Wisconsin Sports Services and Minnesota Youth Athletic Services.
