Receive major league instruction and learn to play baseball the Twins way at Twins Training Camps! The winter edition of the Twins Training Camps provides players an opportunity to continue to develop and improve their skills while preparing for next season's tryouts. The mission of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Training Camps is to provide Upper Midwest youth with quality baseball instruction at an affordable price in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Twins Training Camps cater to athletes wanting to improve their baseball skills in a serious instructional setting. Twins on field personnel as well as alumni, minor league players and top college and high school coaches will provide daily instruction. The instructional staff is very experienced and dedicated to helping youth develop their skills. A large and experienced staff ensures a low player-to-coach ratio, so players receive the attention they need to develop. The 2010-2011 winter edition of Twins Training Camps features one, two-day camp and two, one-day camps. All camps are conducted at the Nationals Sports Center in Blaine, MN, the home of the official Twins Training Academy. Twins Training Camps are open to youth ages 8 to 18. Camps address general baseball skills including hitting, defense, throwing, pitching, strength & conditioning and mental skills. Players will go through hitting drills designed to correct flaws and improve swings; defensive drills including infield and outfield work; and throwing drills designed to teach players the correct way to throw to gain velocity, accuracy and avoid arm injuries. For younger players, emphasis is placed on fundamentals and intermediate skills. For players over 13 years old, instructors will introduce and focus on more advanced training. 2010-2011 WINTER SCHEDULE
