Welcome to the 2021-2022 MYBA Tournament Results Index (formerly known as MYBA Rankings).
As of 1/20/2022, the collection of tournament data (formerly known as MYBA Rankings) has been modified and renamed as MYBA Tournament Results Index. This index will act as a season resume for all Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance (MYBA) member association teams.
The factors listed below led to the platform moving from a rankings format to a more functional tool of Season Data/Results:
- Difficulty managing the volume of traveling teams competing in multiple (A, B & C) levels of play throughout the 2021-2022 season. Approximately 40% of participating MYBA teams compete at multiple levels of play throughout the winter community-based traveling basketball season.
- Difficulty navigating and providing clear results based on a team’s level of play, when several association invitational tournaments are combining levels of play (A, B & C).
- The perception or negative impact of a “rankings” platform, as the intent was to be a collection of results and a supplement for the MYAS Grade State seeding process.
- If 100% of the data is not able to be collected, then consequently the rankings are not 100% accurate.
- Nearly 30% of MYBA invitational tournaments are utilizing another event management platform besides Tourney Machine. Many of these tournaments are not inputting teams with the proper Team ID. Therefore, these results have been determined to be incomplete or inaccurate.
- As a service to all MYBA member associations, MYAS staff will continue to strive to create a mechanism to collect 100% of the data, that is 100% accurate.
