Teams must have a minimum of six (6) completed games in tournaments that use RegisterPlay Brackets by the respective Rankings Deadline listed above to be eligible to participate in the 2027 MYAS Grade State Championships. For a complete list of tournaments using RegisterPlay Brackets.

Important Information

Complete Team Rosters Required for the Grade State Championships

  • The rosters contained within RegisterPlay are the official roster for travel basketball and the MYAS Grade State Championships.
    Click here for instructions on how to build your roster.
  • Coaches, please ensure that your team roster is fully updated and complete.
  • Any players not listed on your roster will not be eligible to participate in the Grade State Championships.
  • If un-rostered players participate in games, it will result in forfeits for your team.
  • We appreciate your cooperation and attention to this matter to ensure a smooth tournament.
  • Rosters can have a maximum of 12 players.

General Information

  • Each participating team must have a complete online roster.
  • Boys may not play on girls’ teams and girls may not play on boys’ teams.
  • Players may not be rostered on more than one team for the MYAS Grade State Championships.
  • Team rosters are located within the MYAS RegisterPlay platform.

High School Players

  • Pertains to 7th & 8th Grade players participating on MSHSL teams (9th Grade, B Squad, C Squad, JV, Varsity)
  • MSHSL policy modified in June of 2025

Roster Consistency Requirement:

  • Teams competing in the MYAS Grade State Championships must use the same travel team roster from the winter travel basketball regular season as recorded in RegisterPlay.
  • It is not permissible for a player that played with a high school team to play in the Grade State Championships once that player is done with the high school season.

Entry Fee Schedule

  • October 4: $420
  • December 1: $435

Admission Fee (Collected at the tournament upon entry to the facility)

  • Adult Daily: $10
  • Adult Weekend Pass: $15.00
  • Students/Military Daily: $5
  • Senior Citizens (65 & Older) Daily: $5
  • Student/Senior/Military Weekend Pass: $8.00
  • 5 & Under: Free
  • SPECIAL NOTE: This tournament is a fundraising mechanism for a local youth athletic association or high school booster club. The host group retains all concessions and admissions from this tournament to support their local program.

MYAS Refund Policy

  • If a team or individual drops out of an event prior to the entry deadline, a full refund of the entry fee will be issued.
  • Teams or individuals dropping out of an event after the entry deadline will NOT receive a refund.
  • If an event should have to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. weather, loss of electricity, etc.) a prorated portion of your entry fee will be returned based on the number of games played.
  • If an event is cancelled, with no games played, due to any of the above reasons, teams can elect a 75% refund of their entry fee or have 100% of their entry fee applied to a future MYAS event.
  • The credit card processing fee is not refundable.

  • It is our shared goal to maintain the integrity of the community based winter basketball season.

  • Champions: Team trophy, championship banner and first place medals for players
  • Second Place & Beyond: Medals for players

  • 7 teams or less: 1st & 2nd
  • 8 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Consolation
  • 9 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Consolation
  • 10 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Consolation
  • 11 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Consolation
  • 12 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Consolation
  • 13 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
  • 14 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Consolation
  • 15 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Consolation
  • 16 teams: Award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Consolation

Note: The medals for 4th, 5th & Consolation are the same

Age and Grade Cut-Off Dates
2025-26 Season

Grade/Age Requirements: Players must play in the grade division in which they are currently enrolled and must meet the appropriate age limitation specified below:

  • 3rd Grade Eligibility: In 3rd Grade AND born on or After September 1, 2015
  • 4th Grade Eligibility: In 4th Grade AND born on or After September 1, 2014
  • 5th Grade Eligibility: In 5th Grade AND born on or After September 1, 2013
  • 6th Grade Eligibility: In 6th Grade AND born on or After September 1, 2012
  • 7th Grade Eligibility: In 7th Grade AND born on or After September 1, 2011
  • 8th Grade Eligibility: In 8th Grade AND born on or After September 1, 2010

Notes

  • It is permissible for a player to play up from their designated grade division, but they may not play down. For example, a 5th grader may play on a 6th grade team but a 5th grader may not play on an 4th grade team.
  • A player who has been accelerated in school may participate in the grade level that would be their “natural” grade.
