MYAS Announces Partnership with Precision Basketball and Coach Forrest Witt to Advance Youth Basketball Development Across Minnesota

By MYAS Staff —

Minnesota Youth Athletic Services, Inc. (MYAS) is proud to announce a partnership with Precision Basketball and its founder, Coach Forrest Witt, designed to expand access to high-quality basketball training, development resources, and educational content for coaches, players, and parents throughout Minnesota.

As a strategic partner of MYAS Hoops Training & Development, Precision Basketball will collaborate with MYAS to provide affordable skill-development opportunities while delivering a comprehensive library of instructional resources, drills, coaching tools, and best practices that support participants throughout the Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance (MYBA) winter basketball season.

For more than two decades, Coach Forrest Witt has dedicated his career to developing basketball players and building successful programs throughout Minnesota and the Midwest. As Head Boys Basketball Coach at Alexandria Area High School for the past 18 seasons, Witt has led the Cardinals to six section championships, five conference championships, a Class AAA State Runner-Up finish in 2021, and the program’s first-ever State Championship in 2025. He has also operated Precision Basketball for more than 22 years, helping thousands of athletes improve their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game through camps, clinics, and training programs.

Known for his passion for teaching, Witt’s approach emphasizes fundamental skill development, teamwork, leadership, and character, making him one of Minnesota’s most respected coaches and instructors.

“Precision Basketball is excited for this opportunity to partner with MYAS,” said Forrest Witt, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Alexandria Area High School and Owner/Operator of Precision Basketball. “As a former youth, high school, and collegiate player, as well as a current youth and high school coach, I believe I can provide valuable experience and perspective to coaches, players, and families throughout Minnesota’s basketball community. Community-based youth basketball programs are the foundation of successful high school programs, providing opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills, build friendships, and represent their communities. Some of my favorite memories as a player came during those youth basketball years competing alongside my friends.”

As part of the partnership, MYAS and Precision Basketball will work together to provide educational content and developmental resources designed to support athletes, coaches, and families at every stage of the basketball journey. Resources will include skill-development videos and short reels, practice planning tools, coaching education content, seasonal tips and drills, and player development recommendations aligned with the values and goals of community-based basketball.

Throughout the Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance (MYBA) winter travel basketball season, Precision Basketball resources and instructional content will be integrated into MYBA communications and MYAS social media platforms, providing coaches, players, and families from MYBA’s network of 176 member associations and school-based organizations with ongoing access to practical training tools, developmental insights, and best practices that can be implemented throughout the season.

For more than 35 years, MYAS has served as a statewide leader in youth sports by providing leagues, tournaments, educational programming, and resources that support positive youth development. Through this partnership, MYAS will leverage Precision Basketball’s expertise and content library to further enhance the experience of youth basketball participants throughout Minnesota.

“MYAS is thrilled to welcome Coach Witt and Precision Basketball as a partner of our organization,” said Dawson Blanck, Executive Director of MYAS. “Coach Witt is a product of community-based youth basketball and has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to developing young athletes and giving back to local basketball programs throughout Minnesota. Precision Basketball’s emphasis on fundamental skill development, team concepts, leadership, and character-based coaching aligns seamlessly with our mission and values.”

“Together, we have an opportunity to provide meaningful resources that support players, coaches, and families while strengthening the community association and school-based basketball model that has positively impacted generations of Minnesota youth. Through MYBA communications and educational platforms, we will deliver valuable Precision Basketball content directly to coaches, players, and families across our statewide network, creating meaningful touchpoints that support learning, development, and engagement throughout the youth basketball journey.”
